A History Enthusiast,
a Guide by Vocation
Welcome! I’m Aurore Schweitzer, a tour guide passionate about the infinite richness of Alsatian heritage.
My job is not just to recount the past, but to bring the stones to life and convey to you the spirit of the places we explore together
My Career Path: The Importance of Expertise
To provide you with high-quality tours, I have built my expertise on a foundation of both academic study and hands-on experience:
-
A solid background in history: With a Bachelor’s degree in History, I draw on archives and documentary sources to ensure the accuracy of my narratives.
-
Professional certification: My Professional Bachelor’s Degree in Tour Guiding is a testament to my commitment to high-quality cultural tourism.
- Expertise in accessibility: Committed to inclusion, I completed a specialized 24-hour training course with Accesens focused on welcoming visitors with disabilities (visual, hearing, and intellectual impairments) to ensure my tours are accessible to all.
Before going into business for myself, I had the privilege of gaining experience at iconic sites of French heritage:
- Le Vergeur Museum in Reims: The site of my first tours, which confirmed my calling.
- Guédelon: The adventure of experimental medieval construction.
- Haut-Koenigssbourg Castle: The sandstone giant of the Vosges.
- Hohlandsbourg Castle: A sentinel of Colmar’s history.
My Business: An Adventure in the Heart of Alsace
In 2018, I took the plunge into entrepreneurship by starting my own small business. This decision allows me to offer you personalized and genuine support today.
Whether we’re strolling through the narrow streets of Colmar, marveling at the Issenheim Altarpiece at Unterlinden, or discovering the little-known stories of the women who shaped our region, I design each tour as a unique encounter between you and history.
